So you have your flight booked for Turkey and can’t decide where to stay while visiting the very magical city of Cappadocia? We stayed at both a budget-friendly hotel but this review will be about the luxury hotel option in this city: The Museum Hotel. Not only was I drawn to the hotel after seeing countless photos of the beautiful outdoor views as well as the impressive infinity pool, but I also noticed all the awards the hotel had rank “Best of” within Turkey and Europe. If I’m paying for a luxury experience, it’s nice to know that I can also expect the very best here! Being a boutique hotel, lodging availability is limited with only 30 rooms so make sure to book your stay in advance! I felt like I was in a movie…it was magical!

Location

The Museum Hotel is located in the heart of Cappadocia, just about 8 minutes drive from downtown Goreme which is where we spent most of our leisurely time strolling, shopping for lanterns and colorful rugs as well as dining out. It’s not as convenient if you plan to spend most of your time in downtown but it is ideal if you’re looking for a place with an “outside-the-city” type feel. Imagine, starry night skies, vibrant garden peacocks and candle-lit dinner tables in the courtyard!

The Courtyard

The courtyard was my favorite part of the hotel property! The charming and historic ruin-style courtyard looked best during sunrise and sunset. In the mornings, you could catch the dreamiest hot air balloon views here! During sunset, the sky just lights up around the entire hotel and pool area. Whenever we could, we’d have our meals out here to take in all of the incredible views–it just set the mood completely!

Rooms

Now let’s talk about the rooms! I mentioned they are limited in only 30 suites total here, but they make each and every single one count…they are are built to be unique in design so they all have their own character and charm! They are all designed with the museum concept in mind–each cave room featuring priceless antique valuables on display, and the rooms all have a view of Cappadocia outside to boot. We booked the Castle Cave room which is one of the deluxe rooms and it was simply fantastic! Cozy yet luxe with a view of the valley outside our windows. Luxury bath items are provided by the hotel as well and they even provided a beautiful welcome spread for us! We walked into a fruit platter, chocolates and a bottle of wine! It was the sweetest gesture!

Food

Lastly being a bit further from most of the restaurants located in Downtown Goreme, we wanted to be sure we stayed in a hotel with delicious dining options should we feel too exhausted or just too lazy to take a taxi into the downtown area. Enter, the hotel’s restaurant, Lil’A! Available for both lunch and dinner serving up new-aged versions of classic Turkish dishes, we loved how everything was plated so beautifully and tasted as good as it looked too! It will cost you a bit more to order here than the restaurants in town but you’re paying for the ambiance and quality! The ingredients are sourced from their own gardens or local produce markets. Make sure to order the hummus here, it was insanely delicious! We ordered it 3 separate times. 🙂 We also ordered our breakfast to be set up outside during sunrise so we could enjoy the view of the balloons with our breakfast early morning. Make sure to request this the day before!

Enjoy an unforgettable morning watching the sun rise over the horizon with a string of dozens and dozens of hot air balloons follow it as you sip on your fresh-squeezed juice! It was quite the breakfast experience. 🙂

Lastly don’t forget your camera because every inch of this hotel is picture perfect! This was not sponsored, all opinions are my own. Hope you’ll visit this dreamy city and hotel soon too. Let me know what you think when you’re back. Happy travels!
